that's right folks,
in a few weeks it's the official jelly bean holiday.
not that i like them,
as much as i love staring at them.
it's gotta be those colors that get me all the time.
i think i am easily color tranced/brain washed.
anywho, in my brain washed trance of staring at all things colorful, it was no surprise i squealed when i first saw all the cookies with candy inside of them.
y'know the ones i am talking about, like these with the donkey filled, drum filled. pumpkin filled, egg filled present filled colorful goodness inside.
and they looked oh so darn purdy!
but too labor intensive for my lazy butt and so darn perfect like they were made at a factory or something!
and if i were to make them, i would have a security guard by them so no one would eat them, cuz they would be used for staring purposes only since i took 432 hours to make 3 of them.
yes, it would take me that long.
anyway, i needed something to make of similarity without the perfection and still look ok.
so i resorted to these:
just follow the
yellow brick road white arrows to see how i made them.
that's a ramekin i used to shape it.
after i smooshed the krispie in, i freezed it for about 10 minutes to hold its shape.
then i got some vanilla bark and covered it.
but i didn't like the lid.
it was too bumpy looking.
so i ate it.
what then could i use to make the perfect candy filled jar with the perfect lid?
a chocolate wafer perhaps?
HOLY COW! it's a perfect fit?!?!
what the hey man?! works for me!
the jar's done.
now let's get the jelly beans!!!
and last but not least, let's decorate the jars with some edible markers.
ok so where's that security guard?
